Creative Cities Network
The presence of talent is the best indicator of a city’s success. Talent results in higher per capita income and allows an economy to be innovative and adaptive.
Most cities have focused on attracting talent, despairing of their ability to develop and retain talent. However, human beings are inherently creative, and one talent development strategy that is generally ignored is the tap the creative capacity of all of a city’s people.
In an effort to explore new perspectives on the role of creativity in cities, CEOs for Cities formed the Creative Cities Network in 2008 to better understand creative cities concepts and how leaders can put the ideas into practice.
The network brought together leaders from across the country through a series of four meetings held over the course of a year to explore the potential of creative cities, push the dialogue forward and develop strategies for action.
