Yes, Denver

Yesterday I made a quick trip to Denver to visit with mayors there for the Democratic National Convention.  I took a very early flight (The CTA is always interesting at 4 a.m., filled with workers headed to O'Hare.), so I had plenty of time to look around a city I haven't visited for a couple of years.  The progress is remarkable, particularly on the LoDo edge of downtown to Union Station and beyond.  There you find a rich mix of new buildings and renovations filled with housing, offices, shops and restaurants.

If you've watched MSBC this week, you've seen the view from their studio perch back to the train station looking toward LoDo and downtown.

A corner in LoDo.

The bridge pictured here shows bikers and walkers coming from the flats into LoDo and downtown.

It's hard to imagine anyone who craves urban living not giving Denver a close look.
