Transforming Digital Culture Through Civic Crowdsourcing

Jake Barton, founder and principal of Local Projects and CEOs for Cities collaborator, presented Change by Us and lessons learned from Give a Minute at the Eyeo Festival, a conference of creative coders, designers, and artists working to transform digital culture.  Change by Us is an evolution of CEOs for Cities’ Give a Minute. In addition to crowdsourcing ideas on city sustainability, Change by Us, which is scheduled to launch in New York on July 7^th, will cluster responses to generate community-based action groups. Eyeo Festival attendees enthusiastically embraced Change by Us as an innovative platform. During a twitter conversation on the conference, Civil Branding recognized Change by Us as a “fantastic project…reinventing public participation.”
