One Down, 8,001 to Go

I just had to share this article from my hometown, Memphis, on County Commissioner James Harvey who, after not finishing college in the traditional timeframe, went back in 2007 and is about to graduate with his bachelor's degree at the age of 47.  Shelby County (where Memphis sits) has 132,000 adults with some college but no degree, and the city is focusing on that group to achieve its $1 billion Talent Dividend. To reach it, the region needs only to increase its college attainment by one percentage point or 8,002 grads.  Well, make that 8,001.  Read the full story here.
