Megapolitan Thinking Catching On

Rob Lang introduced CEOs for Cities to the idea of the Megapolitan at our national meeting in May 2006. He told us that at the very least, cities need to be thinking about how they'll help and be helped by neighboring metros in the event of a natural disaster or terrorist attack.
Indianapolis, Louisville and Cincinnati must have gotten the memo.
The three cities have announced a regional pact that will allow rescue workers from each area to immediately mobilize and head to a city struck by disaster, according to a story in The Indianapolis Star.
Officials say they want to avoid the confusion and chaos that resulted from Katrina.
