Jobs, Unemployment and Talent

An interesting article in the Huffington Post lists the 12 best cities to find a job. If you compare this list to a ranking of cities based on college attainment rates, you would find they correspond fairly well.  Seven of the top 12 in college attainment rates are in Juju.com's 12-city list.

This shouldn't come as a huge surprise as those with a Bachelors degree or higher are less than half as likely to be unemployed as those with no college education, and as Ed Glaeser found if your neighbors are better educated, regardless of your personal level of education, your likelihood of being unemployed is lower. The similarity among Jujo.com's list and college attainment rates also suggests that even in a tough economy the presence of talent can lead to job creation.

Another reason why there is no time like the present to begin working on achieving the Talent Dividend.
