Grand Rapids Vibrancy through “American Pie”

Determined to show the vibrancy of Grand Rapids, Rob Bliss, a city organizer, planned a city-wide music video to the song "American Pie." Over 9,000 residents joined together to create the city anthem, which evokes a sense of pride in Grand Rapids, a CEO for Cities partner city. The video, which proves that Grand Rapids is not a dying city, has over two million Youtube hits. In an interview with ABC News, Rob Bliss discusses the "palpable excitement" in the city during the making of the video.
