CEOs for Cities is a national network of urban leaders dedicated to building and sustaining the next generation of great American cities.

Guess where people are connecting these days. YouTube? Yes. MySpace? Of course. But a new (old?) place to connect turns out to be the ever-expanding common spaces and amenities in condos. And since condo living is growing at a fast clip in cities (condo sales are holding steady vs. single family home sales), that's good news.

Or is it? Like health clubs and giant bookstores, will condo amenities drain the well-to-do from public amenties? Or will the new connections make city life an improved experience?

I really enjoyed the article a lot. Since taking my Urban Geography course this semester, I have come to appreciate cities more than I had in the past, being a country girl who migrated to the suburbs of a city when she was younger. Though, I admit I sometimes long for the countryside but it is slowly disappearing because of sprawl. So, to preserve my love of place, I want to see cities thrive in order that we may recapture some of our arable, beautiful farmland and pastoral landscape.
