This short video provides great insight into the new approach being taken in LA to promoting mass transit, including a great campaign, redesign of the experience and services, and highlighting public transportation as a solution to the challenges individuals grapple with.
When the automobile industry is spending $20 billion a year promoting automobiles, as Clayton Lane of EMBARQ suggests, transit agencies need to get creative and invest in promoting mass transit as an attractive option.
See how LA has raised its public transport ridership up to 36% from 22%.

Uhhh. I think there was a typo above. I don't know how LA's total ridership changed, but the statistics above should read, "See how LA has raised its discretionary ridership up to 36% from 22%".
