CEOs for Cities is a national network of urban leaders dedicated to building and sustaining the next generation of great American cities.

The President has his man to run the National Endowment for the Arts.  The New York Times reports that  Rocco Landesman, the colorful theatrical producer and race-track aficionado who brought hits like “Big River,” “Angels in America” and “The Producers” to Broadway, has been nominated as the next chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Speculation is that the selection of Landesman is a signal that the President plan to shake things up at the endowment. He is lauded by colleagues as a great entrepreneur and producer who speaks his mind and will energize the relationship between the arts and government.

As a former consultant to the NEA, I'm excited.
