CEOs for Cities is a national network of urban leaders dedicated to building and sustaining the next generation of great American cities.

Speaking to the R.J. Daley Global Cities Forum today in Chicago, Vice President Joe Biden cited the importance of the work of CEOs for Cities on the Talent Dividend.  He was using it to make the point that education is one of the most critical investments we can make.  He quoted from the TD work by saying that educational attainment explains 58% of any city's success (as measured by per capita income) and that Chicago stands to realize a $7.2 billion annual Talent Dividend if Chicagoland can increase its college attainment rate by one percentage point.

It's such a new and satisfying experience to have the White House seriously considering what happens to cities and acknowledging the role they play in making the nation successful.
