CEOs for Cities is a national network of urban leaders dedicated to building and sustaining the next generation of great American cities.

President Barack Obama’s national high-speed rail (HSR) master plan will be announced Thursday, April 16, at 9:00 a.m. EDT.

Scott Bernstein, president of the Center for Neighborhood Technology who spoke at the CEOs for Cities November, 2008 meeting in Chicago and who has been invited to attend the announcement, said “The Obama administration is moving quickly to advance high-speed rail as the most sustainable and cost-efficient mode of innercity transit,” By investing in high-speed rail, the Obama administration is not only addressing transportation issues but also reducing greenhouse gas emissions.”
