CEOs for Cities is a national network of urban leaders dedicated to building and sustaining the next generation of great American cities.

Writing in next week's Time Magazine, Michael Gruenwald advises President-elect Obama on how to spend $1 trillion.  Compared to building new roads, Gruenwald says repair the old roads.  Fixing existing infrastructure first not only produces more jobs but it has a more favorable overall long-term economic impact.  (Hear that, Congress?)  He also recommends money on renewable energy projects.  I am only listening to the tease on Morning Joe by Time's editor, but Gruenwald's article sounds like a homerun.

May I suggest the following article as the other side of the same coin: http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/stories.nsf/editorialcommentary/story/87C0F1D78EBED6DE8625752300050E0D?OpenDocument
