CEOs for Cities is a national network of urban leaders dedicated to building and sustaining the next generation of great American cities.

Our friend and colleague Kim Walesh was recently commissioned to write a piece about how San Jose thinks about the arts, creativity and economic development.  In it, she writes about the city's goal of developing and supporting a cadre of artist-engineers that will help fuel "a unique, vibrant arts scene [that] will help us develop, attract, and nurture talented people."  It's an excellent overview of the rationale behind support for arts, culture and creativity in a tech-focused town, and it also lays out specific examples of the initiatives that city has developed to support its goal.  Read the full article here.
