CEOs for Cities is a national network of urban leaders dedicated to building and sustaining the next generation of great American cities.

According to Representative Michele Bachmann (R-Minnesota), Democrats are rejoicing over the high cost of gas and the loss of jobs around the country.

"This is their agenda," Bachmann states bluntly. "I know it is hard to believe, it's hard to fathom -- but this is 'mission accomplished' for them," she asserts. "They want Americans to take transit and move to the inner cities. They want Americans to move to the urban core, live in tenements, [and] take light rail to their government jobs. That's their vision for America."

Yeah, right. Let's force people to live in tenements (Uh, Congresswoman, do you mean in high rise buildings, like mine?).  Let's force people to live in the urban core (where they can get to work in 2 minutes, like me? or to Millennium Park in 3 minutes, like me? or to  a thousand other good things within walking distance).  Let's force people to take light rail (on which I can read or work on my laptop while someone else drives me to the airport on a rail without the horrendous traffic on the Kennedy?).  Yeah, it sounds like a brutal sort of lifestyle to me. What about you?
