CEOs for Cities is a national network of urban leaders dedicated to building and sustaining the next generation of great American cities.

The Seattle Art Museum has these nifty bite-size tours to help patrons capture a meaningful trip without feeling overwhelmed.  I love the way they are framed around ideas like "if you can't see everything, at least see this," or "check out these interesting personalities."  Rather than getting stuck in one wing, these tours encourage participants to breeze through whole sections while on their way to the next piece of interest.  Very easy, compelling and smart.

Now, what about cities?  They can be big, dense and overwhelming too.  What if urban leaders looked at their cities like SAM looks at its tours?  What could be done to help urban dwellers get better access to new experiences and ideas?

CityProwl, based in Cleveland, Ohio provides audio walking tours that are about 30 minutes long, easy to do on a lunch hour. The tours focus on architecture, city history & culture and other interesting and entertaining facts. Five downtown tours will be available by early August and several neighborhood tours are currently starting production.
