Yesterday, in his State of the City address, Mayor Bloomberg said “keeping New York City and America at the front of the pack begins with an openness to new energy, meaning immigration, and new ideas, meaning innovation,” according to an article in today's NY Times. This points directly to two of our tenants at CEOs for Cities, the need to develop, attract and retain talent and to constantly stimulate innovation in all aspects, in order to create and sustain successful cities and thus a successful America.

I commend Mayor Bloomberg on his vision. This country was built by immigrants and our future will depend on immigrants as well.
