The Cabinet Member Who Wants to Be Mayor
January 15, 2008
Posted by: Carol
French President Nicolas Sarkozy's cabinet members are not satisfied to run the country. They want to run the cities, too. Two-thirds of the 33-member cabinet plan to run for mayor or deputy mayor. "It's a way for a minister to stay in contact with the soil," according to the labor minister. It's also a way to keep power at the top, but it's interesting to consider the possibilities.
What if the U.S. Education Secretary also served as a mayor in charge of his local school system? What if the secretary had to live by the rules she creates?
This may have potential...
